With a last name like Galowski, people often wonder what his background is. "Part Polish, part Italian, all sexy!" is how Kyle jokingly describes himself when asked about his heritage. He grew up in Cleveland surrounded by an expansive and diverse music scene. At the age of 13 he had taken a fond interest in wanting to become a percussionist. Teaching himself to play was going to be tricky though as he had only one small obstacle in his way - no drum set.

Just as the old saying goes, let nothing stop you from reaching for your dreams. Kyle began teaching himself on drum sets in local music stores throughout the city. Often playing for hours each day and listening to other customers playing to learn new tricks. Only being able to buy a pair of drum sticks every now and then to appease the store owners, they did not mind as they could see his passion growing into something spectacular. Eventually he was able to save up enough money to one day purchase a used drum set and persue his musical aspirations.

Kyle played in several local area bands ranging in every genre available around him. Each band was another color on his palette of musical style. As his playing evolved, his influences grew, studying the styles of drummers and percussionists such as Phil Collins, Carter Beaufort, Abe Cunningham, Dave Wokyl, Josh Freeze, Chad Sexton, and many many others.

He relocated to Goose Creek with his father in his late teen years and began forming bonds with other musicians in the local are. He was in and out of a few local area bands until finally finding what he was looking for in OverDrive. Kyle continues to evolve his drumming skills while still maintaining to be a driving force in the sound that is OverDrive. When asked about his methods of creating music his answer is "think outside the box".
