Born: March 31, 1973
Home Town: York, SC

Born and raised in the upstate region of South Carolina in a small country town, Jimmy grew up in a home surrounded with music. His father being the lead guitarist in a national supporting band, Jimmy was already getting a tase of the music life during his entire childhood. Before the age of 7 he was already learning the basics of playing but had not decided what instrument he wanted to persue.

One day while flipping through the pages of Metal Edge magazine he saw a picture of Gene Simmons of KISS playing his famous "Axe" bass. It was at that moment that Jimmy realised that he wanted to become a bass player. He began learning to play the bass at age 12 and immediately spent all of his free time practicing relentlessly. By the age of 14 he was already performing live shows and sitting in for numerous local bands ranging from rock to bluegrass.

Skip forward a few years, a few more bands, and his first real project was a band from Rock Hill SC named Undertow. During the Undertow years Jimmy played countless shows touring up and down the east coast receiving great attention from the music industry and from fans alike. After 3 years of touring and playing with national acts, Undertow decided to call it quits due to personal differences. Growing tired of being a bassist for hire after Undertow, Jimmy decided to quit playing bass for a while and relocated to Charleston SC.

After a long break of 8 years he started getting the itch to play again and began searching for a band to play with. After trying out for several bands that were not what he was searching for, Jimmy decided it would be best to build a band from scratch. After talking his brother Craig into helping him form this new band they met with the first members of this project over some beers and a name was decided, OverDrive. The rest is history.
